	Prof. Yigang XU, Head of Institute BSc (Zhejiang University), PhD (University of Paris VII) Specialized in geochemistry and petrology, Dr. Xu focuses his researches on lithospheric composition and processes, large igneous provinces/mantle plumes and related environmental impact and mineral resources. He is the director of the CAS Key Laboratory for Isotope Geochronology and Geochemistry, member of LIP commission of IAVCEI and associated editor of Chinese Science Bulletin. 	Prof. Chen Shaoyong, Deputy Director BSc (Hunan University), PhD (Xiamen University) Before joining GIG in 2007, Dr. Chen worked for South China Sea Institute of Oceanology since 1986, where he served as head of research department, assistant director and deputy director. His research interests include marine chemistry and environment. In December 2007, he was appointed Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party Committee of GIG, and Deputy Director. 	Zhang Yan, Deputy Director BSc (Qinghua University) Zhang Yan worked as an engineer in Institute of Automation, CAS during 1986-1993. She then moved to the Guangzhou Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and served there as the director of Personnel Department, before she joined the GIG in 2002. Zhang Yan is now the deputy director of the GIG, in charge of supporting department and ARP system. Meanwhile, she is the head of the Changsha Center for exploration of mineral resources. 	Dr. Xia Ping, Deputy Director BSc (Peking Univ), MSc (Sun Yat-sen Univ), PhD (GIG, CAS) Dr. Xia joined the GIG in 1992 and worked as director of the division of Science and Technology and division of Personnel. She held her current position since 2008, responsible for financial magangement and administration. Dr. Xia’s research interest includes ore deposits and mantle geochemistry.
