Recently, Professor Sun Weidong, also vice-director of the Key Laboratory of Isotope Geochronology and Geochemistry, Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, CAS, was admitted as a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists, because of his outstanding researches on continental crust formation and theories of ore deposit formation.

As is known, the Society of Economic Geologists is the largest society of ore deposit, and has more than 4000 members all over the world.
