Professor Zhongli Ding, deputy president of CAS, companied by Professor Fan Weiming, director of Bureau of Science and Technology for Resource and Environment of CAS, Professor Yigang Xu, vice director of GIG, Professor Xuliang Zhuang, director of ecology department of Bureau of Science and Technology for Resource and Environment of CAS, and Professor Ping’an Peng, director of Pearl River Delta Environmental Pollution and Control Research Center of CAS, visited “subsurface wetland and high load leachate system” demonstration project in Liming village of Jiangsu province. So far, it is one of the four demonstration projects constructed using this technology, and other fifteen same projects are constructing in Guangdong and Jiangsu province.

After heard the introduction by Professor Fanrong Chen, senior scientist of Pearl River Delta Environmental Pollution and Control Research Center of CAS and one of inventors of technology, Professor Zhongli Ding discussed in detail with other relevant staff on expansion, direction and viable market-oriented model of the technology. He hoped GIG, using this technology as a wedging point, make a greater contribution in the process of creating a new socialist countryside.

During the visit, Professor Zhongli Ding also listened to the ideas of building a new socialist countryside from Mr, Mingqi Zhang, village party secretary, and villagers’ evaluation and advice on effectiveness of sewage treatment, then visited the Ecological-Agriculture park of Liming village.
