Dr. Eddy Zeng, a full professor with the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry and the director of the State Key Laboratory of Organic Geochemistry, received his B.S. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, his M.S. degree from Zhongshan University (China), and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Southern California. Hs is currently conducting research to examine 1) inter-compartmental processes and fluxes of persistent organic pollutants (POPs); 2) bioaccumulation and foodweb transfer of POPs; and 3) the feasibility of using solid-phase microextraction-based technologies to measure freely dissolved concentrations of POPs in sediment porewater. He has authored more than 80 scientitifc papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
